As our Packaging Technical Manager, you'll act as the technical expert for packaging across our supply base and Global Production Centre. You'll help strengthen how we design, approve and deliver packaging solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance, safety and sustainability while enabling our continued global growth.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work closely with suppliers, production teams and internal stakeholders to bring innovative, compliant and future-ready packaging solutions to life.

Location and working pattern:

Hybrid working – based across our Nuneaton or London hub, with travel required to our Global Production Centre in Burton, UK.

We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at one of our Holland & Barrett offices in Nuneaton, London or Burton for 2–3 days per week.  If based in London or Nuneaton, travel to our Burton site will be a requirement.

The Role:
  • Own the technical governance of packaging across primary, secondary and tertiary formats.
  • Lead packaging specification, approval and change control to support successful product launches.

  • Build strong relationships with packaging suppliers, supporting technical capability, quality standards and compliance.
  • Ensure packaging meets global legislation and environmental requirements, including recyclability, EPR and PPWR awareness.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by evaluating new materials, formats and packaging innovations.
The Person:
  • Experience in a technical packaging role within FMCG, retail or consumer brands.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials and formats, particularly rigid plastics, metals and flexible films.
  • Experience working with global supply bases and external manufacturers or contract manufacturers.
  • Understanding of packaging regulations and sustainability frameworks, including recyclability standards, EPR and PPWR.
  • Confidence managing technical supplier relationships and influencing cross-functional teams.
